Welcome to the latest Blog and update on all the activity that has gone on in the past week in The Mighty Small World! With 2015 fast running out of days, our attention this week has turned to preparations for the annual Christmas Party gig at the Bassment – taking place on 11th December. For me, this gig is always one of the great highlights of the year – a chance to put on a special show in my home town, an opportunity for us all to let our collective hair down, and get the Festive season up and running.
I am incredibly excited by this years line up – and absolutely stoked that good friends Sunscreem, Black Chapel and The Boy Jones have all agreed to return to the scene of that amazing gig back in September. If you were there, you’ll know what I’m talking about – if you weren’t, then please come along and check it out!
Sunscreem need no introduction and will be tearing up the room with a combination of their classic hits such as “Love U More” and ” Perfect Motion”, and tracks from their truly brilliant new album, “Sweet Life” – their first new album in 20 years.
Paul, Lucia and Duane will be joined by Rob and Bongo Ted – and, who knows – there maybe a few others joining them on stage during the performance! And from the planning meetings we have had so far, I know that the band are promising some surprises during the set…..
Everyone that saw his set last round agreed that it was absolutely stunning. Please make sure you get down to the Bassment in time to see this wonderful Artist, who will be once again joined on stage by a number of guest vocalists, including Sara and Ruby and the wonderful Bird, for a set of dramatic chill out ambient trip hop. No clues to the tracks for this set – but you will be disappointed if you miss any of it. Trust me!
Meantime thank you to Bird for being part of this night. Her current album is called “Figments of Our Imagination” and Black Chapel has done a fantastic mix of one of the tracks, “The Dare” More info on Bird here
I am currently holed up in my studio working on my set for the night – there will be some familiar tunes, a few new ones, and maybe some new versions of some older tunes. I’m enjoying rehearsing the set inbetween all the other crazy stuff thats going on at the moment!
Finally the glue that holds the night together will be provided by the awesome Terry & Stewart from The Boy Jones who will once again be manning the decks throughout the night. I had the pleasure of playing on stage with The Boy Jones last week at the Electric Jam – great night then, and I cant wait to hear the tunes they have put together for this night.
More details about the running order for the night nearer the time, but you can get hold of tickets for the Event now via this ticket line – I think we are in for a hot and sweaty night, dont miss out!

Outside of the party preparations, it has been another busy and eventful week! On Tuesday Martin and I were in London to meet with the wonderful David Jaymes from IRL, and record plugger Mick Garbutt to talk about plans for next year involving the release of “Its Only Love” as my next single, and a campaign on the back of that for ” TheMightySmall” album. Its wonderful after 2 years of hard work on the road that we are now in a position to take the project to the next stage.
Meantime my Artist Profile Video has been added to The Featured Artist page of the Britrox site, and will shortly be streamed on the TV show itself. If you havent yet seen it, please take a look here – be great to have your feedback
Also, look out for another new video, for the track “Anything” , which will be uploaded to Britrox and You Tube shortly.
Thank you all so much for the fantastic support you continue to give me – it means so much to both Martin and myself. If you havent as yet LIKED the fan page, please do – there are lots of great things coming up to let you know about, and the FaceBook page will alert you to it all.
